Gay marriage is NOT legal in TN, that means legally they can not. 93% of the voters said no in public referredum, 87 and 1/2 on first count, after absentees it was 93%. The only part of DOMA repealed was benefits on federal level, not sta...te and local. The reason Fed Supreme Court could not is that the definition of marriage is left up to the states, and in TN it is illegl. They heard the American Medical Association come in and again say no gay gene has ever been found, and no proof that they are born gay, and this stopped them from hearing Prop 8, and they refused to hear the case, dropped it down to a state high-court, as it was not a civil right since they are not born gay. Their not having been born gay was also why they are not a protected class on fed or state level. Collegedale votes, like the rest of TN, voted NO on gay marriage, making it illegal for them to do so. State laws prohibit this!
