BILL HASLAM IS WRONG, A FEDERAL JUDGE CAN NOT OVERTURN THE STATE'S LAWS AGAINST GAY MARRIAGE. FEDERAL JUDGES DO NOT HAVE THE POWER TO OVERTURN THE FEDERAL SUPREME COURT RULING GIVING THE STATES THE LEGAL RIGHT TO "DEFINE" MARRIAGE:

BILL HALSAM STATED
"Tennessee actually put that to a vote," he said. "Until a judge rules that law is unconstitutional or until there's a different vote, our obligation is to enforce the law. That's what the people of Tennessee and the legislature voted for."  

Bill Haslam is wrong in thinking that a federal judge can overturn the state's laws, the Federal Supreme Court ruled it is left up to the states to determine the definition of marriage in their state, a federal judge does NOT have the power to overturn a Federal Supreme Court ruling.  The state attorney generals' offices would strike down the federal judge's attempt at this, as it is not the legal.
